You write. You send. Then silence. Commune turns that silence into conversation, giving your readers somewhere to discuss every issue, connect with each other, and show you who's actually paying attention.
Writing and sending is on you. Everything else (the community page, the chat threads, the subscriber intelligence) Commune handles automatically.
Install the Commune app from the Kit marketplace, or connect directly from the Commune dashboard. Either way, setup takes under a minute.
Write and send broadcasts in Kit exactly as you always have. Nothing about your workflow changes: not the editor, not the segments, not the schedule.
The moment your broadcast lands in inboxes, it's also live on your Commune page with a chat thread open for discussion. Discoverable by your community, new visitors, search engines, and LLMs. No extra step from you.
The moment a broadcast goes live on Commune, a chat thread opens automatically for it. Your readers can jump in, ask questions, share reactions, and talk to each other right on the page, with no extra account or app required.
Not a static comment form. A living thread that keeps going long after your issue lands in inboxes. Your most engaged readers finally have somewhere to show up.

Every public broadcast you send in Kit is instantly published as a public, indexable article on your Commune page: a permanent home for your work on the web, separate from the inbox.
Subscribers can read your full archive. New visitors can discover your writing through search. Your content gets a life beyond the send.

Commune syncs 6 custom fields back to every subscriber in your Kit account. Turn your Kit subscriber table into a community intelligence dashboard.

โฆ Commune fields are synced automatically and available in Kit for segmentation

Superfan, Engaged, or Dormant. Based on overall activity level in your community. Know who to celebrate and who to re-engage.
Rising, Steady, or Cooling. Shows the recent trajectory of engagement. Spot rising stars before they become superfans.
A composite score of community engagement, combining recency, frequency, and depth of interactions.
The date of the subscriber's most recent community interaction: a comment, reaction, chat post, or article read.
Every time one of your broadcasts goes live on Commune, a dedicated chat thread is automatically created for it. Readers can jump in, ask questions, react, and talk to each other directly on the article page. You don't need to set anything up. The thread is ready the moment your broadcast goes live.
Any broadcast you marked as public in Kit. Broadcasts sent only to paid subscribers or specific private segments are never published on Commune.
No. Just connect once and forget it. Commune automatically picks up your public broadcasts and publishes them to your community page. Your Kit workflow stays exactly the same.
Within minutes of your broadcast being sent.
Commune works with all Kit plans, including the free plan. Free plan users connect via an API key inside Commune's dashboard settings. Paid Kit plans can connect either way: via the Kit marketplace (what this page links to) or via API key inside Commune. Both work exactly the same once connected.
Currently, any public broadcast automatically goes live on Commune. If you have a broadcast you don't want to appear in your community, make sure it's not marked as public in Kit. Commune will leave it out.
The fields stay in Kit as a historical record. The "Is On Commune" field will be cleared if the subscriber deletes their Commune account. All other fields remain as a snapshot of their last known engagement.
Free to install. No credit card required. Official Kit integration.
