# Writing is the remote team's superpower

Distributed work rewards one skill above all others, and it isn't Zoom charisma.

When you can't tap someone on the shoulder, the quality of your writing becomes the quality of your team. A clear doc scales; a clear hallway conversation doesn't.

- Default to a doc, not a call.
- Write the update you wish you'd received.
- Edit for the reader who has the least context.
