# You need layers, not more gear

I spent years buying gear for problems I didn't have.

- A base layer that moves sweat away.
- A mid layer that traps warmth.
- A shell that stops wind and rain.

That's it. That's the system. Everything else is a nice-to-have the catalog invented.
